Over 40 kilos of heroin confiscated on Tajik-Afghan border

Russian border guards have confiscated more than 40 kilos of heroin on the Tajik-Afghan border.

RIA Novosti learned from the press service of the Russian border guards in Tajikistan that on the night from Thursday to Friday 4 men tried to cross over the border from Afghanistan to Tajikistan at the section of the Moskovsky border unit.

During an attempt to detain them the trespassers opened fire at the border guards who entered into a fight with the bandits. The latter threw away the cargo they were carrying and disappeared in the direction of the adjacent territory, noted the press service.

Two bags with about 44 kilos of heroin were found later on at the place of the clash.
