Vice President of the Russian Union of Entrepreneurs and Industrialists Igor Yurgens stated at a "round table" meeting dedicated to Germany's cumulative and professional pension insurance schemes that he considered the experience of his German counterparts in the area of pension insurance to be invaluable for the Russian pension system.
In the opinion of Jurgens, Germany's experience can prompt us what to do next. The experience of German colleagues in the area of a cumulative system will be of special importance.
Yurgens's opinion was supported by Mikhail Dmitriyev, first deputy minister of economic development and trade. In his opinion, the most interesting seems to be the German experience in relation to schemes of participation of non-governmental pension funds in the pension system.
The meeting heard reports of Dr Markus Seiler, a department head of the German federal department of office staff insurance, and of Frank Baumeister, an expert with the German labour ministry. The reports touched upon issues of additional pension insurance in Germany, as well as of professional insurance in Berlin.
Representatives of the largest Russian and foreign insurance companies and pension foundations and leading experts took part in the round table. The meeting was organized by the German institute of economic research (Berlin), the expert institute in association with the Russian Union of Entrepreneurs and Industrialists and the Higher Economics school.
