Plane collision above Germany: Tu-154 crew spoke english

Andrei Stepanyuk, the Director of the Moscow office of Bashkir Airlines, denied the possibility of the plane crash above Germany having been prompted by the crew's insufficient knowledge of English.

"It was one of our best-experienced crews," Stepanyuk asserted at a briefing held at Moscow's international Domodedovo airport.

He also told journalists that the jet in question had undergone a complete check the day before the catastrophe, and that it was outfitted with the most advanced equipment. All 12 crew and 57 passengers on board had been insured in accordance with international requirements, he added.
