Plane collision above Germany: Bashkir Airlines deny crew mistake

Sources in Bashkir Airlines insist the crew of the Tu-154 jet, which collided with another plane above Southern Germany, could not have made a mistake. On Tuesday, a spokesperson for the company assured RIA Novosti that the pilots engaged in the Moscow-Barcelona flight had had "a broad experience" and had spent many years working for airlines. In fact, the crew "spent the past five years carrying out international flights," the source emphasized.

According to his words, the jet in question was a new machine "in full working order." Last night, the jet collided with a Boeing-757 cargo aircraft belonging to DHL at a height of 11,000 meters. The collision, which occurred above Boden See in Southern Germany, killed all 12 crew and 57 passengers on board the Tu-154 and the 2 pilots on board the Boeing.
