Locating an antiterrorist body in Bishkek means trust in Kyrgyzstan, believes its President

Kirghizia's President Askar Akaev has thanked the leaders of the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation for the trust accorded to his country by placing a SCO regional antiterrorist structure in Bishkek. Akaev said this at the SCO summit meeting in St.Petersburg.

Kirghizia will "do everything for this structure to be built efficiently and with success to implement the Shanghai convention on the struggle against terrorism, separatism and extremism".

Akaev has given a high assessment of the SCO work to strengthen mutual trust and cooperation in the region. To him, the SCO "has stood the test of time and become a unique international-law infrastructure".

The SCO charter, signed in St.Petersburg on Friday, "has all it takes to elevate this mechanism to the level of cooperation in the interest of not only regional security but also building a new, stable international political and economic order", believes the Kirghiz president.
