Russia is ready to take part in the establishment of US strategic energy system if there is such a proposal from the American side. Experts of the Russian delegation who will take part in the Russia-U.S. summit have disclosed this information.
According to them, "this refers to possible American concerns over the stability and predictability of world energy markets and fuel supplies." Russia ensures stability of energy systems of many European countries and is ready to establish co-operation in this area with the United States, RIA Novosti sources reported.
According to them, this position will be formalised in a joint Statement on the Beginning of a Dialogue in the Energy Sphere, which is expected to be signed during the Russia-U.S. summit. At the same time, the sources added that the Statement was "not the formalisation of specified commercial projects, but the determination of co-operation areas, which the authorities will promote by creating more advantageous conditions." The purpose of this document is "to enhance both the stability and predictability of world energy flows, as well as the reliability of energy supplies," the sources emphasised.
