Russia Treats India As One Of Best Candidates For Permanent Membership In United Nations Security Council

Russia assumes that India is one of the strongest and best candidates for permanent membership in the United Nations Security Council, said Alexander Yakovenko, official spokesman for the Russian Foreign Ministry. In his interview with Indian journalists he stressed that Moscow treated the United Nations Organization and its Security Council as an efficient means of maintaining stability in the world. Even so, UNO should adjust itself to new realities to remain efficient in the future, said the Russian diplomat.
