Russian sailer to participate in international sea parade

The Nadezhda, a training sailing vessel belonging to the Far-Eastern State Naval Academy of Vladivostok, is bound for Nagasaki, Japan, to participate in an international parade of sailing ships. On returning to Russia, a floating university will be set up aboard the vessel. The UNESCO-sponsored enterprise, entitled Sea Ecology, envisages sea voyages for students from ecological departments of higher educational establishments of the Russian Far East. The unique feature of the floating university is that apart from students, it will admit groups of young drug addicts who want to get rid of their drug habit. During each voyage, socio-psychological rehabilitation groups will be closely watched by experienced doctors and psychologists. By the end of the year, the Nadezhda will perform four sea voyages of this kind.
