Moscow and Seoul are becoming more involved in different areas of cooperation - in the political, economic spheres and on the international scene," Russian President Vladimir Putin announced this at the beginning of the meeting with President of South Korea Kim Dae-jung in Shanghai Friday. The meeting was held in the Hotel Inter-Continental, the residence of the South Korean President. Vladimir Putin said he "was glad to discuss a wide range of problems with the President of the Republic of Korea, particularly the inter-Korean settlement issues." He recalled the recent visit of the North-Korean leader Kim Jong-il. "I believe this visit was a success," Putin said.
