Russia will pay 3,486,983 U.S. dollars to the Czech Republic in payment of all its debts to this country under the December 16, 1985 Soviet-Czechoslovak agreement on cooperation in developing the Yamburg gas field (Western Siberia), the construction of a trunk gas pipeline from Yamburg to the Soviet Union's western border, the construction of facilities for the Urals gas complex, and natural gas supplies from the U.S.S.R. to Czechoslovakia, as well as under other Yamburg agreements. A resolution to this effect was signed, on behalf of the Russian government, by Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Kasyanov. The payment will finally settle the parties' accounts and fulfil obligations of the Yamburg agreements, a spokesman for the Government Information Department has told RIA Novosti.
