A spokesman for the Northern Alliance has told the Al-Jazeera radio station that the United States had delivered strikes at the Taliban installations and bases of the Osama bin Laden-headed Al-Kaida organization, which were located in and near eight Afghan towns. The strikes hit not only Kabul, Jalalabad, Herat, Kandahar, Bagram, Mazar-e-Sharif as it was previously reported, but also the targets located in the town of Farah in western Afghanistan and in the town of Kunduz near the Tajik border. Raids on Farah and Kunduz had been conducted with participation of dozens of American helicopters, the spokesman for the Alliance reported. Taliban Ambassador to Pakistan Abdul Salam Zaeef stated that casualties were not numerous and that "the barbarian terrorist attacks would only unite the Afghan nation." The Al-Bawaba electronic newspaper confirmed that 20 people had died in the first three attacks on Kabul, ten people had been killed in the Kasabkhan district near the airport, other ten - near the building of the Sharia Radio station of the Taliban.
