Palestine: One Year Of Rebellion Did $6-bln-worth Damage

One-year-long intifada inflicted a $6.2-bln-worth damage on Palestine, runs a report of the Palestinian reference and information service, circulated in Gaza Wednesday. All sectors of economy, culture, social sphere and private entrepreneurship suffered losses in the intifada. In addition, says the report, an increasing number of Palestinians were consigned to poverty over the intifada period, with a sharply growing unemployment rate up to 55 percent--a 42-percent increase year-on-year.
