Russian President Vladimir Putin will soon make public the date of his forthcoming visit to Great Britain, said Russian Foreign Minister Igor Ivanov with reference to the president's words Wednesday, opening negotiations with British Foreign secretary Jack Straw. Ivanov reported that in the course of his recent meeting with Putin he learnt that the president "remembers about the invitation to visit Britain and will soon make public the date of the visit." Today's negotiations between the two ministers will be devoted to preparation of the forthcoming meeting between Vladimir Putin and Tony Blair, said Igor Ivanov. The Russian minister paid attention to the intense and fruitful dialogue between Great Britain and Russia that "is actively gaining speed." "We pass on from general statements to concrete deeds within the framework of the bilateral cooperation," specified Ivanov. According to him, personal contacts between Russian President Vladimir Putin and British prime minister Tony Blair set the tone for the bilateral relations. To him, the two leaders show the way relations should be built.
