Monster storms leave hundreds dead

2 monster storms in Algeria and the Philippines have left hundreds of people dead.

In northern Algeria, a storm of unprecedented ferocity swept through the capital Algiers, leaving 287 people dead and 294 injured. 20 people died in the rest of the country.

In the Philippines, 107 people were killed by the typhoon Lingling on the island of Camiguin, 750 kilometres south-east of the capital city, Manila. There are also 119 people missing and 131 injured.
