Coordination Group On Humanitarian Operations Set Up In Tajikistan

On the instruction of President Emomali Rakhmonov of Tajikistan a coordination group on humanitarian operations has been set up in the republic. Zafar Saidov, Tajik president's press secretary, told RIA Novosti that the group was set up for the purpose of further upgrading coordination and cooperation between Tajikistan and international humanitarian organisations. The new structure will deal with considering and assistance to settling current administrative, transport, customs, consulate and other issues related to humanitarian activity of these international organisations in Tajikistan. Moreover, the coordination group will also engage in creating favourable conditions for the transportation of international humanitarian aid from Tajikistan to Afghanistan.
