US Senators To Negotiate With Uzbek Leaders In Uzbekistan

Democrat-Senator Carl Levin, the Chairman of the Senate Committee on Armed Services, and Republican-Senator John Warner, a top representative of the Senate minority, are to discuss the role of Uzbekistan in the international anti-terrorist coalition with Uzbek leaders, the US Embassy in Uzbekistan said. The US senators arrived in Tashkent on a two-day visit on Monday. The senators are expected to meet Uzbek President Islam Karimov, Foreign Minister Abdulaziz Kamilov and Defence Minister Kadyr Gulyamov. The aim of the US senators' visit is to discuss bilateral cooperation in the spheres of defence and security.
