Kabul Mayor Supports Russia's Immediate Participation In Afghanistan's Restoration

Afghanistan is hoping that Russia will participate in the country's restoration in the very near future, said Mayor of Kabul Ghulam Muhiddin Bahawi on Monday. "We are used to Soviet experts and we value their sincere and truly friendly attitude to us," said the mayor. According to him, currently, all countries, which have ever had relations with Afghanistan, are attempting to establish contacts with us and offer their assistance. Japan and China have already sent their offers to restore Kabul's bread-making plant, construction company, and autorepair facility Jangalak, which are currently out of operation. The three facilities were built by Soviet experts. "We delay responding to these offers as long as we can hoping that Russian specialists will come back," the Kabul mayor stressed. In addition, he highlighted, "at some point Moscow and Kabul became brother cities, and close ties existed between mayor's offices in both cities."
