Bagram Airport Ready To Receive Peace-makers

Bagram airport, Afghanistan, is ready to receive international peace-making forces. Since Thursday British and US task commanders stationed in Bagram, have tightened security at the military bases' checkpoints confiscating TV and photo cameras from foreign reporters. In accordance with a decision of the UN Security Council, 5,000 troops are to arrive in Afghanistan soon, according to Northern Alliance leaders. The peace-makers are to stay in Afghanistan for six months. They are to provide security in Kabul and its environs as long as the Afghan interim government and the Loya Jirga (the Council of Elders) are operating.
