Moscow Concerned With Indian-pakistani Tensions

Moscow is deeply concerned with the growing tension in the Indian-Pakistani relations, said officials in the Russian Foreign Ministry's Department of Information and Press. At the same time, the Foreign Ministry stressed that "Moscow hopes that the Delhi-Islamabad political dialogue will be resumed on the Lahore agreements' basis ." The Foreign Ministry said that the world media were still commenting on the terrorists' assault on the Indian Parliament on December 13 in Delhi. Media reports and statements made by a number of Indian leaders imply that Delhi tends to lay responsibility for this action on Pakistan-based Kashmir extremists. Some Indian politicians are calling for Pakistan to punish the terrorist act masterminds and cease supporting extremist organisations. The Russian Foreign Ministry mentioned in connection with this that the Russian-Indian Declaration on International Terrorism signed in Moscow on November 6 categorically condemns the states, individual persons, and organisations which support, shelter, fund, incite, mastermind terrorism or cooperate with terrorists.
