Russia's Central Radio Engineering Research Institute Opens Office In India

On Thursday the Russian federal state unitary enterprise Central Radio Engineering Research Institute opened an office in Bangalore, Karnataka in western India. The RIA Novosti correspondent quotes Alexander Chinyaev of the Russian trade mission as saying that this enterprise "promotes and adjusts jointly handled civilian and dual-technology goals" to the conditions of India. The institute will cooperate with the Indian Defence Ministry, particularly the structural units of its Defence Research and Studies Organisation, said Chinyaev. A set of projects is already being implemented or under study. Special importance is given to the development of means of radioelectronic warfare, antiterrorist equipment, medical and health-protection systems, transportation problems. The Indian company Bharat Electronics will be among the main partners of the Russian enterprise. The Radio Engineering Research Institute is the first Russian company with an office in such a large Indian scientific-technical center as Bangalore.
