Russia Does Not Rule Out Its Participation In Un Peace-making Forces In Afghanistan, Russian Defence Minister Says

Russia does not rule out the participation of Russian servicemen in UN peace-keeping forces in Afghanistan, Russian Defence Minister Sergei Ivanov said on Friday. However, we should consider their status and the aim of their mission and discuss these issues with the legal Afghan government, which does already exist, the minister said. Russia has claimed the non-participation of the Russian servicemen in military actions in Afghanistan since the beginning of the anti-terrorist operation, Sergei Ivanov stressed.
