Pyongyang Stated the Possibility of Its Withdrawal From 1953 Ceasefire Agreement

North Korea on Tuesday announced the possibility of its withdrawal from the 1953 ceasefire agreement. The signing of this treaty fifty years ago put an end to the war on the Korean peninsula.

According to the information of the Xinhua Agency from Pyongyang, the press secretary of the mission of the Korean People's Army in Panmungzhong, accused the United States of violating this treaty by building up its military presence around the Korean peninsula.

"If the United States continues to violate and abuse the ceasefire agreement in its own interests, then there will be no need to be tied up with it," said the press secretary of the military mission of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea.
