Thailand to help restore aerodromes in Afghanistan

A high-placed representative of the military command of Thailand on conditions of anonymity told local journalists about a decision to send engineer troops to Afghanistan to render assistance in construction work.

After selection and a course of special training more than 120 army engineers and 20 coordinators of work will fly to Afghanistan where they will participate in the projects to repair runways and the buildings of airports and to restore enterprises servicing the fleet of flying vehicles.

The selected personnel will also undergo a short course of linguistic training and hear out lectures on social and cultural life of Afghanistan.
