Frontier guards checking up three armed people who got to Russia from Georgia

The Vladikavkaz frontier unit on Tuesday continued to check up the three armed people who penetrated Russia from Georgia in the area of the Mamison Pass. During the detention they declared that they were soldiers of Georgia's state border protection department.

RIA Novosti learned from the press-service of the North-Caucasian regional administration of the Russian Federal Border Service (FPS) that the Georgian law-enforcement bodies have already been informed of their detention and that they were carrying three sub-machine guns and ammunition.

On Monday, another trespasser without documents was detained on the border. His identity and possible complicity in illegal armed formations are being established.

A resident of the Chechen settlement of Starye Atagi has been detained on the same suspicion. He tried to drive into Russia from Azerbaijan, reported the press-service. During the check-up of his documents when coming from the neighbouring state, he was found to be carrying anti-Russian literature and several copies of a paper of a similar content
