Iraq believes that dialogue with UN has not been interrupted

Iraq believes that the dialogue which it is conducting with the UN has not yet been interrupted, but, due to American pressure, it is "stalling", said Vice-President of Iraq Taha Yasin Ramadan, reports the Iraqi paper Babel on Thursday.

According to Ramadan, the dialogue is "a correct way" to settle all problems. But it is incorrect to understand flexibility as "concessions." Iraq does not consider the American threats to be a "phoney," but does not consider them to be a "fatal inevitability" either.

Ramadan stressed that every nation has the right to self-defence.
