Russia and Ukraine could meet for another round of peace negotiations in Istanbul at the end of the current week, according to a high-ranking source cited by TASS news agency.
“We’re talking about the end of the week, exact dates are being finalized,” the source said.
Earlier, Andrey Klimov, Deputy Chairman of the Federation Council Committee on International Affairs, told Lenta.ru news site that US President Donald Trump had likely either asked or instructed Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky not to abandon the negotiation process with Russia.
The possibility of renewed diplomatic engagement comes amid increased international pressure for both sides to find a peaceful resolution to the ongoing conflict. Istanbul has previously hosted rounds of Russia-Ukraine talks, with Turkey often acting as a mediator.
