Moscow believes international inspectors are secure enough in Iraq

Moscow believes that the international weapons inspectors should have no security problems "taking into account the guarantees provided by Iraq." Spokesman for the Russian Foreign Ministry Alexander Yakovenko said.

"Iraq agreed to let the inspectors resume their work in the country and the inspection will be conducted in accordance with the UN Security Council agreements and resolutions," Yakovenko pointed out in his radio interview with the "Ekho Moskvy" station.

On Monday, the first group of inspectors headed by Head of the United Nations Monitoring, Verification and Inspection Commission (UNMOVIC) Hans Blix and Director General of the International Atomic Energy Agency Mohammed El Baradei is due to arrive in Baghdad.
