An aircraft with Moscow rescuers arrived in North Ossetia

An aircraft with Emergencies Ministry's rescuers arrived from Moscow to North Ossetia (a North Caucasian autonomous republic in the composition of Russia) where a natural calamity occurred, a coming down of a glacier.

The aircraft delivered 57 rescuers and 4 cynologists with dogs. A light emergency and rescue VO-105 helicopter arrived on board the same aircraft to North Ossetia to carry out reconnaissance flights in the mountains.

A glacier which came down from the mountains on Saturday night covered the settlement of Karmadon. According to the information provided by the Russian Emergencies Ministry, the fate of 110 residents of the settlement was still unknown. At the same time the duty station of the Republican Ministry of Interior was of the opinion that minimum 30 people died as a result of the tragedy.

The coming down of the glacier caused a strong flash flood of the Gizeldon river. The Gizel-Koban road is blocked. Residents of the Gizel settlement are being evacuated.

The Russian Ministry of emergencies reported that by the present time the fate of the film crew of director Sergei Bodrov-junior which was shooting a film in North Ossetian mountains and turned out to be in the area of the glacier's coming down was not known.
