Some 30 Russian Enterprises to Take Part in "Defendory International - 2002" Armaments Exposition

The record number of partakers - about 30 defence enterprises and design offices - will present their production at the 12th international exposition of armaments and military hardware for land powers, air forces and the Navy - "Defendory International - 2002" - which will take place in Athens on October 1st-5th. This was disclosed by representatives of the Rosoboronexport federal state unitary enterprise /FSUE/, under the aegis of which Russian defenders will participate in Defendory for the 6th time.

This one of Europe's major and most impressive specialized military expositions is held once in two years by the Greek Institute of Industrial Expositions under the auspices of the Greek National Defence Ministry.

The current growth in the number of Russian participants /20 odd at the previous exposition/ "reflects a stable trend for enhancement of the Russo-Greek military-technical cooperation /MTC/, based on the MTC Agreement, that the two countries signed in 1995", Rosoboronexport officials informed RIA Novosti.

According to the officials, Greece is one of the first NATO countries, which began purchasing Russian arms in bulk. The Greece army has already adopted various systems of anti-aircraft defence, made in Russia, and the Zubr amphibious hover-ships.
