Greek National Defence Minister Yannos Papantoniou visited the Russian exposition at the 12th Defendori International-2002 exhibition of armaments and military hardware, that opened in Piraeus, the outskirts of Athens, on Tuesday.
The head of the Greek military office highly estimated the Russian exposition. The Minister scrutinized the stands of Russian enterprises, producing armoured personnel carriers, including the amphibious BMP-3F, that arouses great interest with the Greek Navy.
The head of the Greek defence office took up "express-training" to drive the Zubr amphibious hover-ship at the Laguna simulator, presented at the exposition. The Greek Navy had already adopted several Zubr ships, and right before the exhibition opened, Rosoboronexport signed a contract to supply the Greeks with another one.
The Greek minister was greatly impressed by a folk group of Kuban Cossacks, which performed right near the Russian stands. Dressed in the traditional Cossack attires, they hailed the high-ranking guest with a song and an agitating Cossack dance.
