Russia plans to cooperate with Afghanistan in housing construction

Russia plans to cooperate with Afghanistan in housing construction. Proposals of ZAO Beta Invest Group relating to quick assembly of one-storey houses arose specialists' interest at the exhibition "Taking Part in Restoration of Afghanistan," which has completed its work in the Iranian city of Meshhed.

President of the company Alexander Sagirov reported Monday that such housing has large space and is designed for living all year round.

Iranian specialists will come to Russia already in November-December to familiarize themselves with potentials of the Russian-German joint development.

The major parts of the construction are expected to be produced in the CIS countries bordering on Afghanistan to reduce transportation costs. The Russian company will be the coordinator of the project, Sagirov noted.

The Afghan entrepreneurs expressed their wish to buy a certain number of houses to be assembled soon in Mazar-i-Sharif. Sagirov stressed that given mass return of Afghan refugees to their birth places, the proposal on quick and qualitative housing construction was beyond competition.

According to him, the Afghan minister of trade highly appraised the urge of Russian and Iranian companies to take part in restoration of that country's infrastructure and economy.
