China bans news without government approval

The Chinese administration on cyber space, which supervises internet operation in the country, banned largest online companies in the country from publishing news articles.

According to the Chinese media, it affected the leading Chinese internet corporations, including Sina Corp., Tencent Holdings, Sohu.com and NetEase Inc.

It is reported that they will be permitted to publish only articles which would have been previously printed or published by the media under state control. Otherwise, the authorities will impose sanctions against companies.

The Chinese internet companies will have to stop publishing current news, that is all the publications connected with politics, economy, as well as oversea and social problems.

It will lead to almost total control of the state over media, which as Xi Jinping stated, should serve interests of the ruling Communist party.
