Ukraine Has Set Out to prove It Did Not Sell Weapons to Iraq

The Ukrainian President, Leonid Kuchma, signed a decree on co-operating with the international experts carrying out an investigation into the alleged shipment of a Kolchuga radar unit to Iraq, the Ukrainian Presidential Administration has announced on Thursday.

The presidential decree sets up a commission to provide for the effective and coordinated work of the international experts. The commission is headed by the Head of the Ukrainian Presidential Administration, Victor Medvedchuk.

The United States claims that regardless of the UN Security Council sanctions Ukraine had sold a Kolchuga radar unit to Iraq. Kiev, on its part, denies the allegations and expresses readiness to provide all the necessary information to the international experts.
