Joe Thornton named NHL's first star of the week

A professional ice hockey centre with the San Jose Sharks, Joe Thornton, was named NHL's first star of the week.

The second place was given to Nashville Predators goaltender Dan Ellis and the third - Boston Bruins centre David Krejci.

Joe Thornton actually helped the Sharks to get the title thanks to his brilliant play. He leads 93 points (28 goals and 65 assists) in 79 games.
