At the present time there are about 1 million homeless children in Russia. Child homeliness and, as a consequence, crime among the teenagers are still on a worrying high level, said Vice Prime Minister Valentina Matviyenko at a Moscow conference devoted to child homeliness and prevention of crimes among minors. According to the data of the government, last year about 30,000 juvenile delinquents were put in the centres of provisional isolation, this year - more than 145,000 crimes have been registered as performed by minors. According to the Vice Prime Minister, the Interior Ministry has registered 242,000 parents who do not carry out their parental duties. Last year 43,000 parents were deprived of their parental rights. These problems are the most urgent in Moscow which has become the biggest centre of uncontrolled migration in the past decade.
