"Music of Political Opposition" is the name of the concert, which will take place in the Moscow conservatory's Rakhmaninov hall on Monday.
This concert belongs to the "Russia-Germany: pages of the musical history of the 20th century" cycle. Each of the cycle concerts /with their total number equalling 17/ is devoted to a certain subject, topical for both countries' music and the order of the concert shows reflects the chronology of development of musical vanguard ideas.
At the "Music of Political Opposition" concert audience will listen to compositions of Dmitri Shostakovich - the Piano quintet /1940/, Hanns Eisler - the Chamber symphony /1940/ and Karl Hartmann - the Funeral Concerto for violin and orchestra /1939/. The compositions will be performed by the "New Music Studio" orchestra led by Igor Dronov, with Alexander Trostyansky /violin/ playing solo.
The next concert of the "Russia-Germany: pages of the musical history of the 20th century" cycle will be devoted to emigration and wartime music.
