Peter Nikolaev was born at the maternity hospital of the city of Kaliningrad at 00:02 Moscow time, NIA Krasnoyarsk news agency said. The time of the baby's birth was registered by medics and a UN observer. The mother of the child will receive a special certificate from the United Nations - "Born on the day of seven billions," Utro.Ru reports.
The baby is 50 cm tall and weighs 3 kilos.
However, other sources say that the seven billionth resident of our planet was born in the Russian city of Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky, the Kamchatka region. According to the UN population fund and the Russian Statistics Agency, the certificate of the seven-billionth human being on Earth should be awarded to the first child, who sees the light on October 31, 2011.
