The Russian Foundation for Culture on Thursday hosted the presentation of "The Most Important Book about Peace," co-authored by children from 20 countries.
"For the first time in the world, an international book has appeared, where more than 1,000 children's letters addressed to peers in Russia and collected over 15 years are used," Dmitry Monakhov, director of the Moscow Palace of Children and Youth Creation, told RIA Novosti.
The "Book of Peace" was published in Russian this year with a print run of 4,000. Last March, it was presented to the 47th session of the United Nations General Assembly by a global women's foundation.
With support from the UN, the "Book of Peace" has been declared a permanent international project, in which mail from young authors abroad will keep coming in to Russia. A Russian and an English version of the "Book of Peace" volumes are intended to be published in Moscow every year.
