Half of Russians convinced country's prestige will grow in next four years

Half of all Russians (50%) are convinced that in the next four years, Russia's prestige in the world will grow. According to a survey conducted by the foundation Public Opinion, based on the responses of 1,500 on March 20, 2004, a mere 5% said they were convinced of the contrary.

In addition, 49% said that life in the country would change for the better. The economic situation was also a cause for optimism for many, with 47% said that it would improve in the next four years, 28% said they hoped that it would at the very least remain the same, while 10% predicated a deterioration.
