FLC inks first-ever leasing contract in Russia for civilian airplanes on international market

Financial Leasing Company (FLC) signed an international contract for the construction and leasing of 10 AN-38-120 civilian airplanes at the LIMA-2003 exhibition in Malaysia on October 3. The AN-38-120 is produced by the Chkalov Novosibirsk Aviation Plant. FLC told Rosbalt that it was the first-ever such contract in Russia for the supply and leasing of civilian airplanes on the international market.

The contract was signed by FLC General Director Evgeny Zaritsky, Chkalov Novosibirsk Aviation Plant General Director Alexander Bobryshev and Lavang Aerospace Interim Director Jahang Pung Abdulla.

The agreement also calls for leasing by carriers in Southeast Asia. Zaritsky said 'it's a unique deal, where the components (finances, airplane, leasing company) are Russian and the consumer is foreign. The signing of this contract shows the competitiveness of the Russian airline industry and the effectiveness of our financial leasing structure on the international market.'

Back in February of this year, the Chkalov Novosibirsk Aviation Plant and Layang Aerospace signed an agreement confirming the intentions of the aviation plant to lease the airplanes. This past summer during the MAKS-2003 the FLC and Carpathian International Airlines of Ukraine signed an international leasing agreement for the AN-38-120 airplanes.
