Direct flights between Kaliningrad and Copenhagen to begin in September

The Kaliningrad Region will soon have direct flights available to Western Europe. As Deputy Governor of the Kaliningrad Region Igor Krasniansky announced today, regular flights between Kaliningrad and Copenhagen will begin in September. It will be operated by the Danish airline DAT and Russian Pulkovo Airlines. There will be four flights per week, each taking 2.5 hours. The first flight is planned for September 7.

The SAS airline operated this flight until autumn 2000 but was forced to stop the flights for financial reasons unconnected with this particular flight. Two years later the Polish airline LOT began providing flights between Kaliningrad and Warsaw although this did not meet the demands of those passengers wishing to travel to Western European countries and Scandinavia.
