Russian Minister for Industry and Science Ilya Klebanov "still hopes" that Malaysia will sign a contract for tank supplies not with Poland, but with Russia, he told a Wednesday press conference.
He was surprised with the too low prices on tanks proposed by the Polish party, he said. "Usually when such a price is announced it turns out that an additional agreement is required to fulfill the contract," he emphasized. "I am not sure this will be the case if the contract on supplying Polish T-72 tanks is signed with Malaysia," the minister pointed out.
Klebanov recalled that Ukraine had also taken part in the tender for tank supplies to Kuala Lumpur and its prices had been higher than the Polish ones.
