St. Petersburg will create good weather conditions during international summit

Work will be organized for creating good weather conditions during the St. Petersburg summit on May 30-31, said Presidential Plenipotentiary Valentina Matvienko on May 20 after a session of the organizational committee for preparation and conduct of the international summit. She said that a definitive weather forecast for the days of the summit is not yet completed; however, the organizational committee is working on technical questions with the Defence Ministry and the Pulkovsky observatory in order to conduct work for creating good weather conditions if the need arises. 'The most important thing is the good mood of the citizens, which relieves any weather,' said Matvienko. She also said that 'We shall try to make sure that there won't be any rain, although weather forecasters are predicting not very high temperatures.'
