AvtoVAZ net income calculated in accordance with the Russian accounting standards dropped by 240 times to 8m rubles ($258,000) in the first quarter of 2003, compared to the corresponding period of 2002, the public relations department of the company told RBC. In the first quarter of 2002 net income was 1.913bn rubles ($61.7m).
