World Bank to support Russian small businesses

Regions can get from $150m to $300m in the event the World Bank's project on supporting small and medium-sized businesses in Russia is implemented, Yevgeny Primakov, the President of the Russian Chamber of Commerce and Industry, declared at the presentation of the concept of the World Bank's project on developing small and medium-sized businesses and the banking sector in Russian region. The Chamber has already created a task force for preparing this project. It includes representatives of the World Bank, the Russian Central Bank, the Russian Finance and Economy Ministries and other agencies.

At the first stage of the project seven regions are to be selected for participation in a program of crediting small and medium-sized businesses.
