A TU 154 liner had an engine failure at the takeoff for a trans-Siberian flight in the Irkutsk airport this afternoon. An emergency landing came off smoothly. No one was hit. The passengers were offered another plane, which started for Vladivostok with a negligible delay. Experts will examine the problem jumbo, reports the Irkutsk regional police board.
Another TU 154 had an emergency landing yesterday in West Siberia's Khanty-Mansi autonomous area, en route across Russia to the Crimea, flight Anadyr-Raduzhny-Simferopol. Vibration shook one of the engines as the liner was 800 metres above the landing strip in the Raduzhny airport. The crew switched off the bad engine. An expert emergency landing injured no one of 150 passengers and the crew of ten.
