Chilean Supreme Court confirmed on Monday former dictator Augusto Pinochet’s dismissal on the allegations against him for his responsibility in the case known as “Death Caravan”. Foundations, as expressed by the courts, are Pinochet incapability to be sued due to his age and a mental disease as a consequence thereof.
The decision was adopted by four votes against one, as it was made known by Chilean Justice sources. Therefore, the verdict rejected an appeal presented by Judge Juan Guzman Tapia against a similar decision, last year.
Pinochet is blamed for being the mastermind of the terrorist operation called “Death Caravan”, which left, according to official sources, at least 58 people killed and 18 hi-jacking illegal state procedures.
