59 persons, previously wanted on suspicions of being involved in terrorist activity, have been exposed in Karachayevo-Cherkessia (a North Caucasus republic of the Russian Federation) within Whirlwind-Anti-terror operation. According to the republic's first deputy minister of the Interior Ansar Tebuyev, more than ten of them have been detained on suspicions of involvement in terrorist acts on 24 March in the Caucasus Mineralnye Vody and Adige-Khabl district of Karachayevo-Cherkessia. This number includes recently arrested Albert Laypanov, aged 24, of Ust-Djegutinsk district, wanted for perpetration of several crimes. In the course of 20 days within the Whirlwind-Anti-terror operation, 343 crimes were revealed, including two crimes committed with the use of explosive devices. Twenty-three explosive devices, explosives and weapons have been seized.
