Omsk governor, having conquered local teleopposition, aims at Moscow

Leonid Polezhayev, the governor of the Siberian Omsk Region, has the other day forwarded a letter to Oleg Dobrodeyev, the chairman of the All-Russian State Broadcasting Corporation (VGTRK) offering to consider resuming the work in the region of the Russian the state company’s representation. The head of the region, who has recently celebrated his victory over the independent-minded local television, now is aiming at the federal-level media. In such a way, the region’s administration is hoping to create a more favourable image of the Omsk Region nationwide, according to the Do-Info news agency. In his letter to the VGTRK chairman, the Omsk governor complains that over the last few years the Omsk Region has been receiving poor coverage compared to other Siberian regions.
