Chechen Militants Attack a Hospital

A troop of Chechen militants attacked a hospital of the town of Gudermes last night. Two militiamen died and one was wounded in the clash. Two alleged rebels are detained. The measures to find other militants are taken. A spokesman for the Department of Internal Affairs in Chechnya reported that militia posts were fired at in the settlements of Shali, Vedeno, Kurchloy, as well as in Octyabrsky and Leninsky areas of Chechnya, “Interfax” announces. There are no losses among employees of law-enforcement agencies. Last 24 hours 17 thousand citizens and 10 thousand automobiles were examined, 3,200 lawbreakers were revealed. 10 underground mini-factories for petroleum refining were liquidated. Two machine-guns, two sub-machine-guns, two grenade cup discharges, about 6 thousand cartridges, six shells and two mines were withdrawn from the inhabitants, the spokesman for the Internal Affairs Department in Chechnya reported.
